OUR FUTURE PROJECT: CONSTRUCTION OF A FREEPALLIATIVE CARE CENTRE

At Anandam, we believe that every life deserves dignity, love, and care—even in its final stages. Inspired by the heartbreaking experiences of our own residents and students, who battled terminal illnesses with courage and pain, we felt a profoundneed to create a sanctuary for those facing end-stage illnesses, particularly cancer.

Why This Initiative?

We have witnessed firsthand the immense suffering of terminally ill patients, including some of our senior residents and a brave young student who fought stage 4cancer. These experiences moved us deeply, and we realised the urgent need for specialised palliative care—a place where patients can live their remaining days with dignity, peace, and compassionate support.

We also receive numerous requests for help from poor families connected to our Anandam Medical Care Centre and surrounding villages. Sadly, the cost of caring for end-stage patients is prohibitively high, leaving many poor patients neglected and alone.

We want to change this. We want to offer hope, comfort, and dignity.

Our Vision

We are planning to build a state-of-the-art Palliative Care Centre to provide:

Free care for terminally ill poor patients, with a special focus on end-stagecancer patients.
Holistic medical and psychological support to ensure that every patient receives not only physical care but also emotional and spiritual comfort.
Dignified and compassionate end-of-life care that respects the individualityand needs of each patient.

A Sanctuary of Comfort and Peace

Our proposed Palliative Care Centre will be built on a serene plot of 8050 sq. ft., just 0.6 km from our main Anandam complex. The centre is designed to provide:

Accommodation for 50 patients, ensuring privacy and comfort in their final days.
24-hour medical care by a team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and caregivers.
A beautiful and tranquil environment with lush greenery, a well-ventilatedwalking area, and recreational facilities.
A water body nearby, built by the corporation, adds to the serene and healing ambience.
On-campus accommodation for doctors, nurses, and administrative staff, ensuring seamless and round-the-clock care.

Project Details and Progress

A land of 8050 sq. ft. with an existing building has already been purchasedand registered in Anandam’s name.
The existing structure will be renovated and merged with the newly planned construction.
Architectural designs are underway, and we are in the process of submittingthe drawings to CMDA for approval.
The total planned built-up area is 14,500 sq. ft., with an estimated project cost of Rs. 500 Lakhs.
Construction is expected to begin by September 2025.
