Anandam – Special School

Anandam Special School, formerly known as Anandam Learning Centre, is a full-fledged school that provides specialized education to children with learning difficulties such as Autism, down syndrome, dyslexia, slow learners, low IQ, etc. We have identified 47 such children among our students and have started coaching them, to help them overcome the challenges posed by their learning disability, with the goal of integrating them into the mainstream education system.

The teachers for these children have completed a certificate course in special education from Annamalai University. V – Excel Trust, an institution that pioneers in providing specialised education is our technical partner in this initiative.

The School that was inaugurated on the 8^th of October by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The school is situated at Ambattur, Chennai & has a built up area of 18,810 sqft. in land measuring about 10000 sq.ft. This state of art facility provides a holistic learning structure for students with learning difficulties free of cost. The school provides a multi-faceted learning structure that includes various therapies such as physio therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, sports therapy,  art therapy, hydrotherapy, music & yoga therapy, shloka chanting, etc.

This rounded education helps the students in their development. We are providing multi-disciplinary professional services free of cost like medical practitioner like neuro & paediatric specialist, special educators, clinical psychologies, psychiatrists, pathologists, etc. Counselling sessions were also planned for the parents and extended family members to educate them about how to help with the child’s developmental process & to cope up with anxiety.
