Anandam entering into 13th year of service to society was celebrated. Chief Guest Mr. K. VEERA RAGHAVA RAO., I.A.S., District Collector, Thiruvallur was the Chief Guest. Other Guest of Honour were Mr. Vasudevan -Head Card Operations, HDFC Bank and Mr. A.S. Hariprasad, Chairman of GK Shetty Group of Institutions.
Highlight of the programme were:
- Music by visually challenged persons from the NGO called VIZHIGAL.
- Residents of 13 Home for Senior citizens were invited (representatives participated) and they were honoured with dress materials and a steel tumbler. Total 420 elders were honoured.
- We are conducting free tailoring classes for the mothers of the children getting tuition at Anandam with a trained teacher engaged by Anandam. Out of the ladies who have completed a full course of training 3 of them were presented with Sewing Machines.
The Chief Guest in his inspiring address complimented Anandam for all the activities and ensured support as needed and possible. The Guests of Honour gave a very thought provoking talk on the various fields touched by Anandam. The invocation song and National Anthem were rendered by our residents.

Lions Club International District 325 A5 with the District Governor Lion K.S.Kannan, celebrated International Elders day and donated Water Heater, soaps, tooth paste to the Home.
Lions Club of Golden Roses, Villivakkam conducted a music competition for our residents (Ladies Only) and 3 persons were judged for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

Our elders (prize winners and trutee) attended the Womens Day Celebrations of Lions Clubs at CSI Church Hall at Whites Road. Prizes were given to the winners of the music competition at the Home.

Special emphasis given for scale models of reduce global warming, water conservation, solar energy and rain water harvesting.

Navarathri was celebrated in a grand manner with Golu display of total 21 steps (1 - nine steps, 1 - seven steps and 1 - five steps) with special emphasis on pollution contol, water saving, reducing noise pollution and solar energy usage.

Pranav Eye Hospital led by Mrs. Malathi conducted an eye screening camp at the Home mainly for the children undergoing tuition. 70 students were screened and about 10 students and 2 parents were identified for detailed check up. Free spectacles given to 2 of the students and 2 parents identified for cataract surgery.
10 of our residents attended Satsang Meeting arranged through volunteers of World Bank.
15 of residents were taken out for a IKEBANA show Lalith Kala Academy and exhibition was interesting.
Light Music Concert was conducted by Dr. Sidharth Ghosh Trust with the famous play back singer Mrs. Chitra. Our residents were given complimentary passes by Mrs. Chitra who introduced the Home and residents to the audience at Kamaraj Memorial Hall and sang songs of their request. A very fine gesture.
Members of Rotary Club arranged a light music programme with singers Mr. Raja and Mrs Vyjayanthi and our elders were entertained with old film hits.

36 of our residents attended the concert of playback singer Ms. Madhumita at Kamarajar Arangam with complementary pass given by the singer herself. We are thankful to Ms. Madhumita for this gesture. The programme was a part of Chennayil Thiruvaiyaru.
Lakshman Sruthi and Chennai Volunteers gave a bus to take our residents for progamme at Kamarajar Arangam as part of Chennayil Thiruvaiyyaru. They were given breakfast and attended two programmes and escorted back.
